I have been drawing and painting since childhood, growing up in Dampier and Karratha where my mother painted hundreds of Pilbara landscapes. With art materials always close at hand, creativity became second nature and the vast, spectacular nature of the North West stayed with me for life.

At 17, I was accepted into the Fine Arts program at WAIT, majoring in Sculpture, which gave me the skills to refine my practice. For many years, marriage, children and work in other fields meant that art moved quietly in the background — though I was never without a paintbrush or creative project.

In 2016, a “tree change” brought me and my wife to Margaret River, where the environment and community helped reignited my passion. The support of the local community, especially through River Angels during my late wife Pauline’s illness, has been a profound gift. Her encouragement and love fuels every canvas and gave me the courage to follow my dream,

Since 2024 I have been painting full-time, working in both oils and acrylics, I approach Western Australian landscapes in a representational style, interpreting the colour and light that define this remarkable place. Painting now propels me forward in life, honouring both my personal journey and the landscapes that inspire me.
